The air conditioner becomes our best friend in the summer months, because it is most likely that it is used very often. But how will we know if our air conditioner is economical and how will we protect ourselves from dangerous particles, such as ash for example, that are present in the air?
Clearly, when we choose an air conditioner, the most important factor in our decision is that it does not consume a lot of electricity. There are some criteria of modern air conditioners that help to understand which is the most economical to choose. These are the following:
1. Old air conditioner
An old air conditioner does not have modern technologies, i.e. inverter and energy class A, as a result of which it burns much more electricity during its use. It may seem very expensive to replace the old device, but honestly using this old technology is much more destructive to our pocket and also to the environment.
2. Inverter technology
Inverter technology helps air conditioners to burn much less electricity, because they have the "maintenance" function, which enables them to continuously maintain the desired temperature in the room, without having to work at maximum. Thus, we can save up to 30% less electricity, since the energy needed to keep the temperature in the room constant is very little. It is noteworthy that the inverter technology makes the air conditioners extremely quiet!
3. Energy class A
The energy class shows how much electricity an air conditioner consumes. The classes start from D, which is the least efficient and therefore burns a lot, and ends with A, which is the most efficient and burns the least. Therefore, we should choose an air conditioner with energy class A or A+ and above.
4. The functions of the air conditioner
· Auto and Fan mode
The Auto function is on the MODE button on the remote control. With it, the operation of the air conditioner is automatically adjusted according to the external conditions. On the same button there is also a Fan function, which enables the air conditioner to operate as a fan without cooling the air.
· Health mode
This is the function that activates and deactivates the Ionizer, i.e. the additional filter present in new technology air conditioners. This specific filter acts as a "cleaner" of the air that enters the room and rids the atmosphere of all kinds of foreign particles, such as dust and pollen, that are present in the air. We must know that almost all domestic air conditioners recycle the air that is in the room. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the air circulating in the room is as "clean" as possible and we must ventilate the space often, so that it is renewed.
· Sleep mode
This particular function is ideal for the evening hours, as it saves energy by gradually increasing the temperature of the room. Thus, we ensure the ideal conditions for a light sleep.
· Swing mode
This function adjusts the inclination of the air conditioner blinds. During the summer months, we should adjust the blinds so that they look up, for a proper distribution of the cold air in the room.
